EVL was founded 20 years ago as an international company, developing, manufacturing and marketing diagnostics products.
Besides offering a diagnostic service to practitioners in The Benelux, which originally was its core business, the company has focused more and more on the development of rapid diagnostic assays, used by diagnostic laboratories and clinicians.
This led to a large amount of diagnostic assays manufactured and marketed by EVL BV today.
Also ingredients needed for the establishment of diagnostic assays, including monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, as well as synthetic peptides and recombinant bacterial expression products, have become part of the range of products presently offered by EVL BV.

The broad experience acquired in the area of developing and manufacturing diagnostic assays has also allowed EVL BV to offer its services and products to companies and institutions which in the framework of research and development activities need additional expertise or ingredients to develop reliable, rapid and cheap assay systems.

Presently EVL BV consists of four divisions:
   
Diagnostics:
- Diagnostic services for veterinary practitioners.
- Serology, Clinical Chemistry and Microbiology for clinicians.
- Health monitoring of laboratory animals.
   
Biotechnology:
- Development of rapid assays, test kits (ELISA, SRE, One-Step).
- Services and products for R&D activities of third parties.
- Custom production of labelled antibodies or antigens.These labels can be
  enzymes (HRPO/AP) or other markers(Biotin,CY5, FITC, colloidal gold)
   
Production:
- Mono- and polyclonal antibodies, synthetic peptides,rapid assays and test kits.
- Custom production of rapid assays (ELISA, SRE, Dipstick, One-Step).
   
Consultancy:
- Workshops for rapid assays (ELISA, SRE, Dipstick, One-Step).
- Technology transfer.
- Development assistance.
